Lee Vidor Claims The Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, London!
There is a Fourth Plinth for statues in Trafalgar Square, London, and the British simply can't decide what to do with it. It's been standing empty since 1841. The other three have stone lions on top of them, I believe.
For the last few years there has been a wonderful art project going there in which anyone can make an art work to put on top of the empty plinth for a few hours or so.
The public then look at it and throw things. Mainly insults. It's all very British.
The art project is running until they decide what to do with it permanently:
I think they should put up a grand statue of someone who unquestionably influenced British culture:
Did Lord Nelson discover the real identity of William Shakespeare? No, he did not.
And he has the whole darn square dedicated to him.
If they can name someone who has been more important to British culture than Lee Vidor, who doesn't already have a nice statue, then that person can have it.
But I don't think they can.
There are a lot of statues in Britain, one for every pigeon.
Lee Vidor is practically the only one in the country who has no statue to be admired.
Imagine what it will look like.. - Isn't it beautiful and cheerful?
They need that with all the horrible rain depressing them all the time.
The Angel Of Shakespeare-X they can call it.
Here's what the plinth looks like below - now imagine a gigantic Angel Lee Vidor there instead of all that weird stuff and piles of bricks.
OMG I look gorgeous and colorful and bursting with fabulosity! I cheer up all of London!
Oh and BTW I also proved the real identity of Shakespeare as well..
